Prima Hörbuch, Spannend und mitreisend.Gefällt mir sehr gut, auch gut hervorragend für Kinder (ab 10) und Jugendliche, wie ich finde.Ich höre Hörbücher während dem Autofahren, finde es sehr entspannend.

Eine tolle Geschichte, spannend erzählt, so richtig was zum runterkommen und eintauchen in eine vergangene Zeit. Hoffentlich gibt es da noch einen ebensoguten Teil 2, denn so kann man die Geschichte ja wohl nicht stehenlassen, Herr Schröder, oder?

toll. Super erzählt und gelesen. Man fällt schnell in die Geschichte hinein und fühlt sich, als wäre man mittendrin. Einfach nur empfehlenswert.

Finde ich gut, aber reißt mich jetzt nicht vom Hocker. Im Urlaub als Lektüre ok, aber zuhause hätte ich wohl nach einiger Zeit weggelegt. Die Geschichte ist gut lesbar. Meine nächste Wahl würde es nicht mehr sein.

Dieses Buch hat einmal mehr meine Tochter begeistert, sie könnte kaum aufhören zu lesen.Sie wurde wieder ein Buch von diesem Schriftsteller kaufen.

Das Hörbuch war spannend zu hören. es lohnt sich dieses Wissen zu erhören!Ich wünsche mir mehr solcher Historikhörbücher.

At one passage she writes: "When you arrive, I reach out to shake your hand. You aren't particularly attractive, but I appreciate your thick raspberry lips. These will be useful if we do have to f***." I found that this is quite sexist and it objectifies the other person. I think what she tried to say with this passage was that if she meets another gay man they are somehow expected to have a sexual relationship because that's what the society expects. But this isn't an excuse for her to objectify him and it didn't seem that she thought it was false thinking these thoughts.In general, I expected more from this book, because Vivek writes about an important topic which is more relevant than ever. While I agree with most of what she says, I think the book is written quite shallow. It feels as if you could dive in much deeper, but somehow her writing style didn't allow me to do so. Also, the book is quite short. So it didn't show me a new perspective from a trans person, which was what I had hoped for.

I just finished reading this beautiful, devastating book, and I feel at a loss for words. The prose is both spare and unsparing, devastating in the way it tells its truth. I’m thankful for the author, I’m thankful for this book. I will be reading it again.
